WHAT IS HUSKALOO?
Huskaloo is the World's first Eco-Friendly Cat Litter
Old clay cat litter is heavy, bulky, dusty and ecologically ridiculous. Clay cat litter is strip-mined. This means the ground is cleared of topsoil, plants and trees and the natural habitat.
The gravel is then bagged and shipped around the world until it's used by your cat. 2.4 million tons ends up in landfill sites every year, and that's just the UK!
Huskaloo, the future of Cat Litter
Huskaloo is compressed bricks of dehydrated coconut husk. Husk is a natural by-product of coconuts and much of it would otherwise be thrown away.
90% smaller and lighter than clay cat litters, Huskaloo is cheaper and greener to store and transport. One box, the size and weight of a cereal box, contains eight bricks – enough for up to 2 months' supply for one cat.
Coconut husk is incredibly absorbent, naturally hypo-allergenic and naturally resistant to bacteria. There is no dust and it is softer on a cat’s paws.
Huskaloo is compostable and biodegradable. All of the packaging is recyclable. Nothing needs to go to landfill.
So it’s lighter, smaller, greener, cheaper and more absorbent.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Huskaloo - Coconut cat litter
It's made from the husk of coconuts. An under-used resource that is often a discarded by-product of the cocunut industry. It's super absorbent, biodegradable, naturally hypo-allergenic and resistant to bacterial growth.
Huskaloo is treated with bicarbonate of soda, to stay fresh and odour free for the duration of use. It will naturally biodegrade in your garden compost.
The packaging for Huskaloo is also 100% recyclable.
Don't just take our word for how absorbent it is.
We commissioned an independent accredited research laboratory to compare clay cat litters with Huskaloo. You can read the results here.

We know that Huskaloo is smaller, lighter, greener and cheaper than traditional clay cat litters, but how does it perform?
We commissioned an independent accredited research laboratory to find out and here are the results.
Three standard litter trays are prepared with holes drilled in the bottom to allow excess water to escape. One contains a single brick of Huskaloo, hydrated with 242ml of water and broken up to make a bed 35mm deep. The other two contain clay cat litter to a depth of 50mm.
The extra volume of clay cat litter – 50mm as opposed to just 35mm of Huskaloo – are as per the manufacturers directions in both cases. Each tray was divided into 6 equal sections. 25ml of water is added to the first section to mimic the volume of urine produced by the average cat.

A standard tray filled to a depth of 5cm with leading brand clumping cat litter weighs an average of 2.4 kilos.
It will absorb 1593ml of liquid before reaching saturation point. That means each kilo of clumping cat litter can absorb on average 666ml of liquid.
A standard tray filled to a depth of 5cm with leading brand non-clumping cat litter weighs an average of 4.7 kilos.
It will absorb 1796ml of liquid before reaching saturation point. That means each kilo of non-clumping cat litter can absorb on average 382ml of liquid.
A standard tray filled to a depth of 3.5cm with hydrated Huskaloo Coconut Cat Litter weighs an average of 0.4 kilos.
It will absorb 1310ml of liquid before reaching saturation point. That means each kilo of Huskaloo Coconut Cat Litter can absorb on average 3489ml of liquid
